Research: East Austin Historical Archive
Although I could never portray the full spirit and identity of East Austin in Central Texas, this book serves as a glimpse into the past, of the people and families who opened Mexican restaurants and served the East Austin community for decades. The most challenging aspect of this project was physically digging through boxes of information at the Austin History Center and digitizing the articles for reading. Three copies of this book were printed and hand bound at St. Edward's University in the DigiLab on Speckletone Starch White French Paper.

The most challenging aspect of this project was physically digging through boxes of information at the Austin History Center and digitizing the articles for reading.
Process work included: collecting images and articles from historical archives at the Austin History Center, researching and experimenting with different book binding techniques, setting up files for print production, fact checking, content writing, layout design and hand lettering.
